Terms of Service

Acceptance

By creating an account or using Caliber Credentials ("Caliber", "the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and encryption keys. Caliber cannot recover your encryption key if you lose it.

Free and Pro plans

Caliber offers a free plan with core features and a Pro plan with additional capabilities. The free plan is not a trial and has no time limit. Pro features are described on our pricing page and may be updated as the product evolves.

Data ownership and encryption

You own your data. Documents you upload are encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM before they are stored on our servers. We use a zero-knowledge architecture and cannot access your encrypted files. You are responsible for maintaining access to your encryption key.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Caliber for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload fraudulent or forged credential documents
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or access the Service beyond normal use

Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee specific uptime. The free plan does not include a service level agreement. We will provide reasonable notice of planned downtime when possible.

Billing

Pro plan billing is handled by Polar, our Merchant of Record. Polar processes payments, manages subscriptions, and handles refund requests. You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time. When you delete your account, all your data, including encrypted documents, is permanently removed from our servers. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Limitation of liability

Caliber is a credentialing management tool. We do not verify the authenticity of credentials you upload, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of extracted data. Always review extracted data before relying on it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Caliber's liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
